EMDR Training & Dates

The recognised NHS technique for trauma and in particular PTSD is EMDR or Eye Motor Desensitisation Reprocessing. Typical symptoms of PTSD include flashbacks, anxiety, panic attacks, interrupted sleep or nightmares.  During this process the client tracks or watches a moving target, typically the finger of the therapist while at the same time tapping on their own body to help the mind and body face fear as well as reduce and usually eliminate the symptoms of trauma.

This technique is a very useful addition to the tool bag of the therapist and can be used for small trauma as well as large trauma.  One of the benefits of this training is that it can put the client at ease because they feel more in control; they are in a focussed state, not a hypnotic state.

This course is recommended for therapists, hypnotherapists and NHS professionals.

You will learn:

  • Background to EMDR
  • EFT tapping points relating to meridians
  • Emotional relationship to specific meridians
  • Preparing your client
  • Gearing language to increase positive outcomes for your client
  • Key protocols to carry out EMDR effectively
  • Incorporating the SUD scale
  • Using Validity of Cognition

You will be given notes including a template for the EMDR process.  On completion you will receive a CPD Certificate in EMDR from the Manchester College of Coaching and Hypnotherapy.
